The Bujo Diaries
make memories fun
What if those arguments to get your tweens off Tech could be easier?
What if they could teach themselves to create inspiring journal pages and learn to process feelings and memories without you
telling them too?
and what if I told you,
you
could give them that?
Let me tell you a story of
my daughter and I and how this
happened to me......
Imagine this
(I'm sure you can)......
It was the holidays, I’d been on countless day trips, entertaining the kids nonstop in an effort to
‘be a good mum’ and keep them off the phones and ipads for as long as possible, but now I was done.
So done!
We’d been out all morning and as soon as we got home my 11yo grabbed her phone and disappeared to her room. I was tired, out of ideas and quite frankly just wanted to sit and enjoy a bit of me time.
couple of hours later the conversation
with my daughter goes like this:
Her:
MUM!! I need more time on my phone
Me:
Her:
You know the time limit, when its gone
its gone.
But it’s the holidays and EVERYONE
else has more time than me!!
Me:
(frustrated) We talked about this, and
you agreed on the amount of time.
Her:
Me:
(pleading) Just one more hour, what
else am I supposed to do!!!
(annoyed) how about doing some of the
crafts you’ve got, drawing, read a book…..
Her:
(dramatic eye roll) *Door slam
Me:
.....................
This argument seemed to be on repeat in my home,
I needed to find some sort of solution that didn’t
cause even more friction and I’m a designer,
so its in my nature to find creative solutions…
Enter......
*Drumroll please*
But what the frig is a Bujo?
I hear you ask…
It is all the creativity of a Bullet journal, all the memories of a diary and an under the radar Journal – a hybrid of all three if you will -
aimed at TWEENS.
I presented this glorious concept to my daughter and I have to say
she was a little skeptical........ but she’d seen bullet
journals before, and thought they were amazing
so was willing to give it go.
And I can tell you
SHE LOVED IT!
(especially at night time when she was supposed to be in
bed but hey, I'll take the small wins)
